Andrzej Olewiński
ANDRZEJ OLEWIŃSKI is a graduate of J. Elsner State Music School in Warsaw, where he studied under the guidance of Marcin Siatkowski, and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, under the supervision of Ryszard Bałauszko.
Between 2007 and 2008, he continued his studies at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música Victoria Eugenia de Granada, in the class of Gloria Medina.
During his musical education, he participated in numerous courses and masterclasses led by renowned guitar pedagogues and virtuosos, such as David Russel, Pavel Steidl, Marco Socias, Goran Krivokapic, Costas Cotsiolis, and Alexander Swete.
As a soloist, chamber musician, and session musician, Andrzej Olewiński has performed at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, collaborating with leading orchestras. In 2023, he participated in the staging of Astor Piazzolla’s tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires at the National Opera in Warsaw, performing the solo electric guitar part.
As a session musician, he has shared the stage with many artists including Kasia Kowalska, Marek Piekarczyk, Kamil Bednarek, Natalia Kukulska, Kuba Badach, Muniek Staszczyk, Renata Przemyk, Igo Walaszek, Anna Wyszkoni, Mietek Szcześniak, Mirosław Czyżykiewicz, Jacek Bończyk, Krzysztof Cugowski, Patrycja Markowska, and Magda Umer.
Andrzej Olewiński has collaborated with prominent conductors and composers, such as Marek Mos, Jan Stokłosa, Paweł Lucewicz, Janusz Stokłosa, Mateusz Dębski, and Bartosz Chajdecki. His meeting with the latter resulted in recording soundtracks for several films and TV series.
The artist has been involved in the Warsaw theater scene for years, participating in dozens of performances at theaters including Teatr Rampa, Och-Teatr, Teatr Polonia, Studio Buffo, Teatr
Ateneum, Teatr Współczesny, and Teatr Syrena.
Andrzej Olewiński is a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and has won numerous awards in national and international guitar competitions.
In 2022, his solo album titled Puzzles was released, featuring original compositions for classical and acoustic guitar. In 2023, the debut album of the guitar duo Sir Nylon McSteel, containing compositions created by the members of the band — Andrzej Olewiński and Maciej Papalski, was premiered.
Since 2018, Andrzej Olewiński has been teaching guitar at the Fryderyk Chopin State Music School in Warsaw. Since 2022, he has been a teacher at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
