Ryszard Groblewski
RYSZARD GROBLEWSKI graduated with honours form the Warsaw’s Academy of Music in 2007, where he studied with Prof. Piotr Reichert.
He has won numerous prestigious international music competitions, including the 60th Geneva Competition 2005 (1st prize, Audience Prize, Breguet Special Prize) and the ARD International Music Competition in Munich (2nd prize, 2004).
Ryszard Groblewski performs regurarly as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician in Europe, Asia, and the USA. The cooperation with conductors such as Sir Roger Norrington, Seiji Ozawa, Krzysztof Penderecki and Reinhard Goebel brought him to prestigious concert venues all over Europe.
Viola concertos by Polish composers have a special place in the artist’s repertoire. Major pieces by Krzysztof Penderecki, Grażyna Bacewicz, and Tadeusz Baird have been recorded by Groblewski for the Polish Radio. Moreover, his musical interpretations may be heard in broadcasting stations in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France.
Ryszard Groblewski is a devoted chamber musician, regularly perfoming with some of the finest artists. Over the years, his passion led him to partership with Pinchas Zuckerman, David Geringas, Krystian Zimerman, Daniel Hope, Rudolf Buchbinder, Julian Rachlin, Fabio di Casola, and Gringolts Quartett. As a chamber musician, he was also invited to record for Deutsche Grammophone and Sony.
The violist is also a recognised pedagogue. Not only does he hold teaching positions in Poland and Switzerland, but is also invited to conduct masterclasses in Poland, Germany, and France.
Sport plays an important role place in the artist’s life. Ryszard Groblewski is a certified fitness trainer. His knowledge in the field of strength training, endurance, and anatomy helps both hobby athletes achieving their best results and instrumentalists willing to eliminate weaknesses and improve the overall strenght of their bodies.
Since 2009, Ryszard Groblewski has been living with his family in Zurich, where he holds a Principal-Viola position in the Zurich Chamber Orchestra.
