Małgorzata Sajna-Mataczyńska
Graduated with distinction from the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where shestudied piano under Prof. Alicja Kledzik. She holds a postdoctoral degree in musical arts and serves as Associate Professor at the Piano Department of her alma mater. She also collaborates with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
Małgorzata Sajna-Mataczyńska is a prizewinner of numerous prestigious piano competitions, including those held in Antonin, Konin, Łódź, Warsaw, Stresa, Salsomaggiore, Acqui Terme and Ajigasawa. In 2000, she was selected as a member of the Polish team for the 14th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. She has participated in masterclasses led by distinguished pianists, including Halina Czerny-Stefańska, Regina Smendzianka, Andrzej Jasiński, Ewa Pobłocka, and Michael Lewin.
The pianist has appeared at Chopin festivals in Duszniki-Zdrój and Warsaw, the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk, and the Paderewski Festival. She regularly gives solo and chamber recitals throughout Poland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Iceland, and Serbia.
She has collaborated with distinguished chamber musicians, including Jakub Haufa, Tomasz Strahl, Bartosz Woroch, Ewa Guzowska, Stefan Kamasa, Tomasz Lisiecki, Dirk Altmann, Marzena Michałowska, and the Meccore String Quartet. For several years, she has also performed in a piano duo with Marcin Sikorski.
Among the most important recordings in her discography are Fantazja (CD Accord, 2000), Chopin & Viola (Teatr Muzyczny w Poznaniu, 2018), Tribute to Paderewski (Akademia Muzyczna w Poznaniu, 2019), and Complete Songs of I.J. Paderewski (Stowarzyszenie Bona Fide, 2024), nominated for the 2025 Fryderyk award.
Małgorzata Sajna-Mataczyńska is the Artistic Director of the Paderewski Festival in Poznań.
